Education

There are no schools located in Radium Hot Springs.

Parents can choose which school to send their elementary-age children, however, bus arrangements may not be available for kids attending school outside of the catchment area. 

Elementary

  • Edgewater Elementary (K-7) – 10km north in Edgewater; kids are bussed from Radium as Radium is within the catchment area.
  • Eileen Madsen Primary – (K-3) – 18 km south in Invermere; kids may be bussed if there is room, but as this is outside the Radium catchment area, transportation is the responsibility of the parent.
  • Windermere Elementary (K-7) – 22 km south in Windermere - operates an intensive French program; kids may be bussed if there is room, but as this is outside the Radium catchment area, transportation is the responsibility of the parent.
  • J. Alfred Laird Elementary – (4-7) - 18 km south in Invermere; kids may be bussed if there is room, but as this is outside the Radium catchment area, transportation is the responsibility of the parent.

 

High School

  • David Thompson Senior Secondary (8-12) - 18 km south in Invermere; kids not living in Invermere are bussed.
  • Open Doors (Alternate) – all grades – for students not attending the mainstream high school.
  • Rocky Mountain Distributed Learning (K-12) – supports students working online or adults upgrading – the school is situated in the Village of Radium office.

 

Post-Secondary

  • Continuing/post-secondary/adult learning is available via College of the Rockies Invermere Campus (www.cotr.bc.ca/invermere) located 18 km south of Radium.
