The Village of Radium Hot Springs was recently granted $2400.00 through BC Hydro and Tree Canada's Community Tree Planting Program. The program seeks tree planting and maintenance partners from municipalities, regional districts, community and local resident groups. The objective of the program is to beautify parks and outdoor recreation areas, restore and reclaim lands to a green state, enhance urban open space and diversify and enhance urban forests. With the funds received from this grant, the Village purchased 9 Golden Maples. These trees were planted in various areas around the Village, including the boulevards, sidewalks and in Rotary Park. The Village is grateful to BC Hydro and Tree Canada for their continued assistance in providing funding for this important program.
