Winter Snow Removal

Posted: October 9th, 2019 In Announcements

The Village of Radium Hot Springs is committed to helping make the municipality safe for pedestrian and vehicle passage along the developed rights-of-ways according to Council approved policy and priority system.

The intent of the snow and ice control program is to minimize the economic loss to the community, reduce the inconvenience and hazards of winter conditions for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, and facilitate the operation of Transit and Emergency Services vehicles.

It is important to note that parked vehicles, parking spaces and driveways may be impeded and sidewalks may be covered — home owners are responsible for removing snow and ice from those areas.

It is expected that there will be winter conditions where the immediate demand for snow and ice control services will exceed the available resources. Please use your best safe driving practices in these poor driving/cycling conditions.

There are sometimes difficult travel times during this season so please be thoughtful of snow plow operators and their difficult job.

Be prepared, be helpful and be considerate of your neighbours.

Thank you.
