Radium Stadium Is Open For Skating!
Posted On: January 12th, 2022

The outdoor skating rink, known as the Radium Stadium, is open to the public for the 2022 winter season, with closures for maintenance scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. On those days, public works will attempt to have the rink opened by late afternoon. Closures are needed to allow for flooding, snow removal and other winter maintenance activities in and around the rink.

Please remember that this rink is used by people with varying skating abilities. Therefore, please be respectful of your fellow skaters, and do not monopolize the rink for any one activity.

The rink is subject to additional periodic closures in response to the weather and other factors. Milder temperatures play havoc with the ice surface, and prevent staff from flooding the surface.

We appreciate your patience and consideration of closed signage, when it occurs.

At the start of the season, the Village supplies snow shovels for volunteers to use to clean the rink. As the season progresses, unfortunately, these shovels ‘disappear’, and the Village will not continue to replace them. So please be aware that you may have to bring your own shovel.

If you are cleaning the rink, please push the snow as close to the rink doors as possible, for easier removal by the bobcat.

Thank you and we hope you enjoy using the Radium Stadium!!
