In partnership with the BC Wildfire Service, the Village of Radium Hot Springs will start a fuel treatment on the Ridge Road municipally owned land.
The objective of the treatment is to reduce intensity in the event of a potential wildfire. The treatment will be completed by local BC Wildfire Service crews – who will use the work as a training exercise.
The treatment will commence by mid-February 2026.
The treatment will involve removing brush and shrubs, such as juniper; limbing live trees to a height of 2 metres; removing dead trees; and removing a limited number of live trees.
Debris will be piled and chipped in conjunction with Radium’s Community chipping event scheduled for May 21st, 2026.
