Stage 2 Water Use Conservation in Effect Now
Posted On: May 12th, 2026

Due to early unseasonably warm weather, the Village’s water settling pond is experiencing an unprecedented algae bloom. Staff are working hard to address this issue.

Due to this issue, the Public Works Department has placed the Village on Stage 2 Water Use Conservation – Twice a Week Watering – effective immediately.

What Does Stage 2 – Twice A Week Watering mean?

Lawns, trees, and landscaped areas

During Stage 2 the watering of lawns, trees, and landscaped areas is limited to two days a week using a handheld hose with an automatic shut-off nozzle, handheld canister, or use of a sprinkler, a drip irrigation system or underground irrigation system. Watering is allowed as follows:

  • Even numbered addresses may water on Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 6:00am to 10:00am and 8:00pm to 12:00am (midnight).
  • Odd numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays and Fridays between the hours of 6:00am to 10:00am and 8:00pm to 12:00am (midnight).

Food Plants and Gardens

Watering of food plants and gardens is allowed more frequently with a handheld canister or a hose with an automatic shut-off nozzle. Watering is allowed as follows:

  • Even numbered civic addresses may water on even numbered calendar days between the hours of 6:00am to 9:00am and 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
  • Odd numbered civic addresses may water on odd numbered calendar days between the hours of 6:00am to 9:00am and 7:00pm to 10:00pm
  • All other outdoor use of water is prohibited. Permission to fill a pool or hot tub must be requested from the Public Works Department via email at depw@radiumhotsprings.ca.

If new lawn seed or sod is being installed on your property, a permit is required to sprinkle more frequently (alternate days watering as outlined in Stage 1). Visit the Village office to complete this form.

Thank you for your cooperation during this time!
