Mayor & Councillors
Mayor Cris Leonard
My wife Katherine and I made Radium Hot Springs our permanent home in 2017 after years of visiting our daughter in the Columbia Valley. Three of my siblings have also settled in the Valley, so family is a big part of our life here.
Over the years, I have owned and managed businesses in several different industries. Volunteering has always been part of my life, and being involved with Rotary and the Chamber has helped me build many friendships here. It has also introduced me to people whose generosity and enthusiasm make this community special.
Katherine and I enjoy spending time with our children and grandchildren and being part of everyday life in Radium and the Valley. One of the things I appreciate most about living here is how often a simple trip around the village turns into a chance to catch up with someone.
What began as a place we came to visit family has become a community we are very happy to call home.

Councillor Jessie Blakley
I was born and raised in the valley, and Radium has always been home to me.
I moved to Vancouver for what was meant to be one year, and it turned into more than 30. I became a hair stylist and raised my family there, but I always longed to come back home.
In 2020, in the middle of COVID, my husband Vince and I made the move back. I knew right away that I wanted to be involved in what happens here. I started doing hair at Elevation Spa, which helped me get to know so many people in this wonderful community. In 2022 I joined Rotary, which I love being a part of, and in 2024 I bought the spa.
So much has changed since I was a kid growing up here, but Radium still has the same small-town charm and the friendliest people anywhere. I love our beautiful little village, and I look forward to helping protect it so we never lose what made us love it in the first place.

Councillor Carey Collin
I am a retired educator but not a retired learner. I hope I have given a fraction of what I have taken from the great folks of the Village of Radium over the past four years. The ‘village people’ have let me into their homes. My fellow council members have enriched me with their wisdom and debate. Village staff have been patient and helpful. I am grateful for all things Radium.
You have placed your trust in me. I will work hard for you. We have a solid team in place to build a better Radium. Rest assured we are looking after things.
I prefer to do my talking and listening in person, so please reach out and let’s do coffee.
Geez I love this place.
Councillor Jessica Hill
I'm originally from New Brunswick. My husband Andrew and I moved to Radium Hot Springs in 2015 when his work brought us here, and the peaceful small-town feel and sense of community made it home. Our Australian Shepherd, Merlin, joined us that fall, and Zeus, our Border Collie pup, is our newest addition.
My background is in retail and management, including four and a half years co-managing the Spa at the Radium Hot Springs. In 2016 I started my own small business to fill the quiet winters, making aromatherapy products and handcrafted, mountain-inspired jewelry, and in June 2026 I opened a storefront on Main Street. I hold a BA in Classical Studies with a minor in Art History, a clinical aromatherapy certificate and Reiki Master certification.
I love how neighbours here take care of one another.
On council, I want to keep Radium, Radium: welcoming growth without losing our charm, and making housing affordable for everyone who wants to build a life here. We are not just a tourist town. I also look forward to volunteering more in our community.
Councillor Dale Shudra
My wife and I were Albertans hoping to eventually move to the warm side of the Rockies. The dream became reality when our vacation property became our full-time home in 2011. Since then, we have enjoyed this beautiful area, as have our visiting children and grandchildren. I believe citizens have an obligation to contribute to their communities. I have been an active Rotarian (three-term president) and championed the Radium Rotary Gardens and the Rotary Splash Park. I have also been active politically at both the federal and provincial level. Beginning my third term as a councillor, my vision remains keeping the Village a great place to live in, work in or visit.
I can be reached by email at dale.shudra@radiumhotsprings.ca.
