At the August 10th, 2026 Regular Council Meeting, contract landscape architects presented a draft Main Street Design Strategy to Council. Developed over the last year+, this strategy presents a conceptual vision that coordinates infrastructure renewal with public realm improvements, to create a walkable, resilient, and active downtown, including Main Streets East and West and St. Joseph St., and a proposed communal meeting space adjacent to Main Street West.
The cost estimates of this proposed project are high. Please note that no commitment to fund this project has yet been made. Once adopted, grant funding may support the Village in attaining some of these goals.
