About Main Park

Main Park is located in the heart of Radium Hot Springs, bordered by St. Joseph’s Street, Stanley Street, and Park Drive East and West. The park includes a large multi-use greenspace, Legends Field, and several amenities for community members and visitors to enjoy: a playground, outdoor fitness gym, splash park, pickleball and basketball courts, and, weather permitting, an outdoor rink.

Pathways throughout the park have been paved to improve accessibility to the park amenities, accessible washroom facilities, picnic area, and the fire pits at the southern end of the field (bring your own firewood).

Parking is available on surrounding streets and in the Radium Hot Springs Centre lot.

Legends Field

Legends Field is used for everyday recreation such as frisbee, soccer, and kite flying, and hosts summer events including the Adventure Radium children’s program.

Main Park Playground

The Main Park Playground is located at the northeast end of the park. It is designed for children aged 2 to 12, with a primary playground and an intermediate playground.

The primary playground includes:

  • A Jumbo Flyer
  • A GT Stock Car
  • A sail climbing wall
  • A balance beam
  • A ridge climber
  • A Rumble & Roll zip slide
  • Bongos

The intermediate playground includes:

  • A tire swing
  • A double wave zip slide
  • An ergo climber
  • A high ribbon climber
  • A megarock
  • A giant wave climber link
  • A Swing ’n Sway

Adult supervision is recommended at all times.

Outdoor Fitness Gym

The Outdoor Fitness Gym is located at the northwest corner of the park and is designed for a variety of exercises, including cardio, strength training, flexibility, and balance. Free and open to the public year-round.

Outdoor Rink

The outdoor rink is 140 feet long by 60 feet wide.  It is set up to accommodate 2 pickleball courts and a basketball court. In winter hockey nets are also available.

Ice is made by Village staff as weather allows, typically requiring several consecutive days of overnight temperatures of at least -6°C with daytime temperatures remaining below zero. Ice must be a minimum thickness of 1” in the centre before the rink can open safely.  Recent winters have made ice making very challenging and the rink is subject to closure when  weather conditions are unsuitable for making safe skating ice.

Splash Park

Built in 2021, the Splash Park is a free, family-friendly water play area, operational (weather permitting) from June until the end of September.
