Mayor & Councillors

The current Council is serving a four-year term from 2022-2026

Mayor Mike Gray

Having visited the Columbia Valley since childhood, I made a permanent relocation here both to follow a business opportunity and to be closer to my nieces and nephews. My partner and I moved here together and we spend a healthy amount of time exploring the wonderful outdoors in Radium’s back yard.

Working as a Councillor from 2017 to 2022 was a great way to contribute to our community. I began serving as Mayor in November of 2022.

My favourite times in Radium have been around community events and social gatherings. I am constantly inspired by how much people love this village, and enjoy meeting residents and visitors with ideas about how to make our community even better. Please email me using mayor@radiumhotsprings.ca

Councillor Dale Shudra

My wife and I were Albertans hoping to eventually move to the warm side of the Rockies. The dream became reality when our vacation property became our full-time home in 2011. Since then, we have enjoyed this beautiful area, as have our visiting children and grandchildren. I believe citizens have an obligation to contribute to their communities. I have been an active Rotarian (three-term president) and championed the Radium Rotary Gardens and the Rotary Splash Park.  I have also been active politically at both the federal and provincial level. Now at the councillor level, my vision is to help keep the Village a great place to visit and live.  I can be reached by email at dale.shudra@radiumhotsprings.ca.

Councillor Erin Palashniuk

My husband and I moved to the Columbia Valley in 2017 from Calgary due to the fact that we have always loved the area and the outdoors.  I retired from working 25 years in the non-profit sector, specifically as an advocate supporting individuals and families with developmental disabilities and am now a local business owner in Radium Hot Springs.

When we moved to the Columbia Valley, I had a goal to become as involved as possible in our local community.  I have had the privilege of being the President of Tourism Radium, Co-Chair of the Columbia Valley Marketing Society, a board member of the Columbia Valley Foodbank and a member of the Radium Rotary Club.  There is something magical about Radium Hot Springs and everyone who lives here knows that about our community.  It is my goal to ensure that our community continues to thrive, and that locals and visitors get to continue experiencing the magic of Radium.  You can email me at erin.palashniuk@radiumhotsprings.ca.

Councillor Carey Collin

After 18 years as “weekend warriors” in the Columbia Valley, my wife and I have had the good fortune to relocate permanently to the warm side of the Rockies. As a councillor, I am committed to maintaining the beauty and charm of our area, most importantly, for the benefit of my two adult children who also hope to call it home one day.

Having achieved a Bachelor of Education and Kinesiology degree from the University of Calgary,  and a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University, I have enjoyed rewarding careers in teaching, educational leadership, real estate, and construction. Currently, I am thrilled to be a member of the Radium Fire Department, and very excited to be a part of the future direction of the Village of Radium Hot Springs with my new team on council. You can email me at carey.collin@radiumhotsprings.ca.

Councillor Christi Ferguson-Huston

My name is Christi Ferguson-Huston and I own Funky Junk Stained Glass & More in Radium.  My partner and I have lived here full time for just over 4 years now and I have been coming since (I think) 1976.  I love Radium and always have – it has so much to offer!  I look forward to being involved in the dynamics of Radium and to be a part of making those decisions.  I am truly excited to be an ambassador for our “friendliest” little town.  You can email me at christi.ferguson-huston@radiumhotsprings.ca.
