Radium Rotary Club

The Sunrise Rotary Club of Radium supports the communities of Radium, Edgewater and north as far as Spillimacheen.

The Sunrise Rotary Club of Radium  has worked hard over the last 20+ years to support the communities from Radium, Dry Gulch and Edgewater all the way north to Spillimacheen. The club has a small membership, but it has built an impressive list of achievements through fundraising events such as bingo, Hole-In-One Golf, beer gardens and helping at other community events

Some of the past achievements include:

• Built Rotary Park, the lovely little greenspace near the roundabout where Highway 93 meets Highway 93/95. This park includes a pathway that joins up with the Sinclair Creek trail system. Rotary adds colourful holiday lights each winter to help greet visitors.
• Partially funded the lovely trees on the main streets of Radium that were lit up for the winter holiday season.
• Provided funds for the construction of one of the bridges on the Sinclair Creek trail system.
• Built the Rotary Garden, the community garden in the centre of the village, complete with raised beds, an eight-foot wildlife fence, gazebo and benches.
• Installed benches at the “Place of Peace” along the trail system that runs from the Hot Pools to Red Streak. If you have a minute, take a minute here. It’s lovely.
• Sponsored student exchanges between local high school students and those of other countries such as Brazil and Japan.
• Provided funds for the outdoor exercise equipment at Legends Field.
• Organized and spearheaded the Legends Field Spraypark play area.

On-going community supports:

• Twice a year local Rotarians and friends clean up trash along the highway extending south of Radium.
• Provide bursaries for graduating grade twelve students from our area for trades and academic post-secondary endeavours.
• Provide funds for Mental Health and Wellness (workshops, health and wellness equipment, etc.).
• Provide support either financially or physically for a variety of other community organizations including the Columbia Valley Christmas Bureau, CV Hospice Society, Edgewater School, Summit Youth and more.

Current Projects:

• The Radium Hot Springs Rotary Dog Park is nearing completion at this time. We will be adding finishing touches as the weather allows.
