Affordable Housing Development: Ridge Road

In May 2025, the Village completed the acquisition of just over four acres of vacant land along Ridge Road in north Radium. This land will support multiple community priorities.

Housing Accelerator Fund

In September 2024, the Village of Radium Hot Springs was approved for a Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) grant worth up to $613,000 over four years. This federal program, delivered through Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), supports local governments in taking action to increase housing supply.

Radium Housing Incentives

Homeowners and developers building new rental units in Radium can apply to the Village for a property tax exemption. Several programs are available to support the creation of long-term rental housing in the community.

Radium Housing Needs Report

In 2024, the Village completed an Interim Housing Needs Report as required by the Province of British Columbia. This report helps us understand current and future housing needs in our community and helps guide municipal planning decisions, including redevelopment of the Village’s Official Community Plan.

Short-Term Rentals

The Village of Radium Hot Springs regulates short-term vacation rentals (STRs) to help balance tourism needs with long-term housing availability. The updated Official Community Plan directs STRs toward tourism amenities while prioritizing long-term housing in residential neighbourhoods.
