Watering Restrictions

Current: Stage 1 Water Restrictions

Learn More

To support water conservation and ensure reliable service through the year, the Village of Radium Hot Springs has water use restrictions in place year-round. Restrictions follow a staged system, ranging from Stage 1 (year-round limits) to Stage 5 (severe drought conditions or during an emergency response). Details on what is and is not allowed for each stage are provided below.

Before you water, be sure to check the current stage and allowed activities.

Smart water habits help conserve our shared resource and reduce strain on the Village’s water treatment and distribution utility, especially during high-demand times like spring runoff, and saves capacity for drinking, emergencies, and other essential uses.

Water use in Radium Hot Springs typically doubles during the summer months, much of it used for lawns or other inessential uses.  As our community continues to grow, using water wisely is more important than ever

When stage 2 restrictions are in effect, permits must be applied for to fill a pool or hot tub, or to sprinkle new grass.

To apply for a permit to fill a pool or hot tub, or to sprinkle additional days for new grass seed or sod, you must request permission in writing from the Village public works department.  The form can be found on the last page of the Village of Radium Hot Springs Water Use and Conservation Bylaw No. 505, 2024.
