2026 – Annual Radium FireSmart Community Chipping Day
• Radium will hold its annual Community Chipping Day again in 2026 this will likely be held during May 2026 around the long weekend. This program allows residents to remove combustible vegetation from their properties, with the chipping crew handling the debris removal. Check back here for updates on the final schedule.
TBD 2026 – Local FireSmart Collective Workshop – previously the Neighbourhood Champion Workshop
• The workshop is open to all residents of Radium who have concerns about wildfire protection and are willing to collaborate with their neighbours to take initiative in reducing wildland urban fire risks. No prior knowledge or experience is required; just an interest in reducing wildland-urban fire risks within our community. Participants will learn to recognize wildland-urban interface fire hazards and how residents can implement simple solutions into an action plan to mitigate the risk of home ignition, thereby reducing losses in their neighbourhood.
