Select designs from outside British Columbia were chosen to add more choice for residents – reflecting the lifestyle and recreation-oriented characteristics of Radium Hot Springs. Choosing designs from outside of the BC chapter may result in additional work with a qualified professional to submit a compliant Building Permit application.
About Pre-Reviewed Building Plans
The Village of Radium Hot Springs is partnering with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) as a Housing Design Catalogue Local Partner. Through this initiative, a selection of standardized housing designs is available to the public at no cost.
While the plans are free to download and use, a qualified professional is still required to ensure the selected plan is suitable for your property and complies with local zoning and regulations.
Choosing a pre-reviewed building plan can help reduce design costs, streamline the permitting process and reduce review times by the building department. Please note that all applicable development permit and building permit fees still apply.
These plans are designed to be adapted for:
• Site-specific conditions (grading, drainage, orientation)
• Zoning compliance (lot coverage, setbacks)
• Parking, access, and site servicing requirements
• Material and cladding selection
• Local code and by-law requirements
• Several design aspects can be modified and customized, including cladding, material selection, and site-specific adjustments
To support infill housing, the Village supports five designs from the Housing Design Catalogue, shown above. Design details may vary and the final appearance of your home will depend on the finishes you choose such as cladding, roofing and interior materials. CMHC renderings are examples only.
