The Village is currently updating both our Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw to reflect our community’s priorities, including the need for diverse and affordable housing options.
Official Community Plan (OCP)
Our new OCP, currently in going through the bylaw adoption process, includes:
• Policies that encourage diverse housing types including multi-unit residential
• Land use designations that support housing development throughout the entire community
• Goals for affordable and workforce housing
• New regulations for short-term rentals (STRs)
• Alignment with provincial housing legislation and our Housing Needs Report findings
These changes make it easier to build a wider variety of housing types in Radium, from secondary suites to small apartment buildings, helping to increase housing supply and diversity.
